Corporate Accountant

If you are looking for a challenging and rewarding opportunity, our organization would love to
have you join our team! Steve’s Livestock Transport is currently accepting applications for a
Corporate Accountant. This is for a fulltime, term position ending January 2019.

The Role:

  • Prepare monthly financial statements & supporting financial information
  • Support in compilation of annual & periodic budget information
  • Assist in year-end reporting process
  • Participate in various special projects
  • Respond to inquiries from the Executive team, and Divisional managers regarding
  • financial results & special reporting requests
  • Record and maintain capital asset purchases & dispositions


  • 3-5 years’ experience in an accounting/finance position or combination of related training including:
    • Monthly reporting
    • Budget preparation
    • Year-end experience
  • Advanced MS Excel skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to recognize and resolve issues in a proactive manner
  • Strong teamwork skills

Preference will be given to individuals who have successfully completed or are enrolled in an accounting designation.

Dispatcher Planner

Started in 1987 by a young entrepreneur with a single truck and trailer, Steve’s Livestock Transport has since grown to become the largest commercial livestock carrier in North America – and a leader in the transportation industry.

With demonstrated and continued growth, we are currently looking for a Dispatcher Planner to join our Logistics team in Red Deer, Alberta.

The Role:

The successful candidate will be the primary liaison between the company and the group of drivers they dispatch. A focus on building relationships and accurately relaying information to the Drivers is a vital part of this role.

Responsibilities include:

  • Plan loads ensuring that all requirements and regulations are met
  • Build positive relationships with drivers as their main contact for day to day dispatch and loads


  • Excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated problem solving ability with the ability to work accurately and efficiently
  • Strong computer skills
  • Preference will be given to those with experience in logistics (dispatch or driving)

Manitoba Company Drivers

Our local company drivers are usually out 2-3 nights per week giving you the opportunity to spend more time at home with your family or friends! With a weekend schedule of one Sunday per month, you can plan for personal activities and maintain a good work life balance.

Alberta Company Drivers

Our Long haul company drivers are usually out on the road for a week or more. Drivers typically run long haul into Manitoba either to our Brandon location or our Head office in Blumenort
