A brief history of Steve's Livestock Transport
Since its inception in 1987, we at Steve’s Livestock Transport endeavor to make innovation and excellence our top priority. Our commitment is to provide safe & humane transportation of livestock in a bio secure environment for all our customers.
The company has grown from 1 young entrepreneur to now providing employment for 80 people in our wash bays, 12 people in our repair shop and 30 administration staff. We have grown from one truck to now running 115 trucks with 142 drivers. Individually, we are rich with quality people. As a team we are diverse with not only talent but also character. Our team is our most valuable resource and the main reason for our success.
We are the largest commercial livestock transportation company in North America. We transport approximately 1,015 cattle and 150,000 pigs per week. Our progressive thinking has led to some of the most innovative facilities and protocols in the industry. We have state of the art washing facilities as well as a truck and trailer repair shop. Our dispatch team, wash bay, and repair shop is on call 24 hours a day to ensure our customer’s needs are being met.
Our company has become a leader in the industry by working together with government agencies to initiate positive change. These include initiatives such as the Trucker Quality Assurance training program as set out by the US National Pork Producers Council. This program trains all drivers in safe and humane livestock handling techniques. We’ve also worked closely with the Canadian Food inspection agency in developing acceptable trailer stocking densities. These are used nation wide to ensure comfortable and humane conditions for livestock during transport. Our company is CT-PAT (Custom Trade Partnership Against Terrorism) and PIP (Partners in Protection) certified.
Our purpose is to provide the highest level of confidence for our customers that the security of transportation is not in question.
